Fur (Fly Tying)

Fur is used for fly tying dubbing, zonker strips, tails, and bodies. Mature fur with the underwool intact dubs beautifully and traps air for buoyancy — the foundation of classic Catskill nymphs and dries like the Hare's Ear, Beaver Mayfly, Muskrat Nymph, and Red Fox Squirrel.

Our fur selection includes rabbit fur in zonker strips, crosscut, and natural and dyed colors; muskrat back; gray, red, and silver fox; beaver; badger; opossum; nutria; and woodchuck. The classic dries and nymphs of the Catskills start with a fur patch like the ones here.
