Biots are the stiff individual fibers from the leading edge of a goose or turkey wing quill — used for fly bodies, tails, and segmented effects on patterns like the Prince Nymph, biot-body mayflies, and various caddis emergers. The stiff, ridged texture creates a segmented silhouette without the bulk of dubbing.
