Floss is a tightly-twisted silk or synthetic thread used for fly bodies, ribbing, and bands of color on classic patterns. The smooth, tightly-wound finish of a floss body is essential to many traditional wet flies, Atlantic salmon patterns, and steelhead flies.

Our floss selection covers single-strand silk, four-strand floss, fluorescent floss, and flexible synthetic flosses for the patterns that demand them. For classic wet flies, traditional salmon flies, and steelhead patterns where the body wrap is the body, floss is the material of choice.
